Dr. Victoria Givens, Your Face Expert

Born and raised in Houma, Louisiana, Dr. Victoria Brighton Givens recognized her calling to the field of medicine early. She graduated Valedictorian of her high school and was heavily recruited by the illustrious Louisiana State University (LSU) for her undergraduate training.

Education and Background

While completing her pre-medical studies, she represented LSU and the Southeastern Conference (SEC) as a Division I Collegiate Athlete in the sport of Swimming. She earned several honors and titles including NCAA Qualifier, First-Team All-SEC, LSU Academic Excellence Scholar Athlete, and the LSU Athletic Director’s Cup for Academic Excellence. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Biological Sciences and Italian Foreign Language before going on to earn her MD from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center-New Orleans.

Advanced Training in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Austin TX

While enrolled at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center-New Orleans (LSUHSC-NOLA), Dr. Givens was selected for a highly competitive training position in Zagreb, Croatia, with the KBC Zagreb Center’s Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery team— a rare opportunity for a medical student. She also served as President of the LSUHSC-NOLA Plastic & Reconstructive Surgical Society, where she created and directed the school’s first “Operation Smile Benefit Concert” that raised significant proceeds for cleft lip and palate repair in developing countries.

Dr. Givens was asked to remain at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center-New Orleans to complete an extensive five-year residency with the Department of Otolaryngology/ENT – Head & Neck Surgery. Following her surgical residency, Dr. Givens was hand-selected for the prestigious American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship under the direction of the world-renowned Dr. Stephen W. Perkins. She is a board-certified surgeon focusing exclusively in plastic and reconstructive surgery of the face at her private practice Givens Facial Plastic Surgery in Austin, Texas.
